Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Combine the golden syrup, black treacle, and sunflower oil in a large bowl. Stir until well combined.
- Beat the eggs in a separate bowl and then gradually add them to the wet ingredients, mixing well.
- Sift the self-raising flour, ground ginger, and baking powder into the bowl. Fold together until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking tray and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Leave to cool completely in the tin before cutting into squares.
