A Hearty and Comforting Air Fryer Beef Lasagna

Instructions:

  1. Cook the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain off any excess fat and set aside.
  2. Sauté vegetables: Add onion, carrot, celery, mushrooms, and 3 tablespoons water to the skillet. Cook until softened, adding more water if needed.
Combine sauce ingredients: Return beef to the skillet and add garlic, crushed tomatoes, pasta sauce, tomato paste, beef bouillon, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, half of the basil, and 3 cups boiling water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, or until thickened.
  3. Prepare the white sauce: In a medium saucepan, combine butternut squash, potatoes, vegetable bouillon, and 4 cups boiling water. Bring to a boil, cover, and simmer until tender. Remove from heat and puree with a blender or immersion blender. Add remaining white sauce ingredients and season to taste.
  4. Assemble the lasagna: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). In a 9×13 inch baking dish, layer one-third of the beef mixture, lasagna sheets, and repeat two more times, ending with a layer of lasagna sheets. Pour over the white sauce.
  5. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until bubbly and cooked through. Let cool slightly before serving.
