Ingredients

  • Beef Stew Filling
  • 800 g lean diced stewing beef
  • 2 medium onions, diced
  • 3 carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 beef stock cubes
  • 600 ml boiling water
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato purée
  • 1 tsp dried thyme (or mixed herbs)
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cornflour (optional)
  • Crispy Potato Topping
  • 750 g potatoes
  • to coat Nonstick cooking oil spray
  • 1 tsp dried mixed herbs (optional)
  • pinch salt & pepper
  • Optional Additions
  • 1 tsp English mustard
  • 40 g reduced-fat grated cheddar
